Fried Cod with Onion Recipe

This crispy fried cod with golden brown onion rings is a delectable and simple meal that the entire family will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • Cook Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Instructions

  • Set aside the cod fillets, which should be cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • Peel the onion and cut it into thin rings.
  • Combine the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a shallow dish.
  • Whisk together the eggs and milk in a separate shallow dish.
  • Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
  • Shake off any excess flour mixture from each piece of cod.
  • Dip the cod in the egg mixture, then in the breadcrumbs, pressing them down to adhere.
  • Heat enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom of a large frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the onion in the pan for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Set aside after removing from the pan.
  • Fry the coated cod pieces for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Top the fried cod with the fried onion.
