Calamari Squid Rings Recipe

These crispy and delicious calamari squid rings are ideal as an appetizer or snack for any occasion. Before being fried to perfection, the squid is coated in a flavorful mixture of flour, cornmeal, and spices. Serve with lemon wedges and marinara sauce for a delicious treat that everyone will enjoy.

  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Instructions

  • Combine the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  • Whisk together the milk and egg in a separate bowl.
  • Dredge the squid rings in the flour mixture after dipping them in the milk mixture.
  • Shake off any excess coating and arrange the rings on a plate.
  • In a large skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
  • When the oil is hot, add the squid rings in batches.
  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • With a slotted spoon, remove the squid rings from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Rep with the rest of the squid rings.
  • Serve with lemon wedges and marinara sauce on the side.
