Fried Calamari Rings Recipe

These crispy and delicious fried calamari rings make an excellent appetizer or snack. The squid is coated in a flavorful flour and spice mixture before being fried until golden brown. For a crowd-pleasing dish, serve with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  • Each squid ring should be dipped in the egg mixture and then coated in the flour mixture.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil.
  • Fry the squid rings in batches for about 2-3 minutes per batch, or until golden brown.
  • With a slotted spoon, remove the calamari rings from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your preferred dipping sauce.
